Baptism 

We take baptism seriously as an act of obedience to the commandment from our Lord Jesus Christ as stated in Matthew 28: 18 - 20

 "All authority has been given to ME in Heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the Nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world"

We baptise our new converts as an act of identifying with the Lord Jesus Christ in HIS death, burial and ressurection into the new humanity or New Man in Christ. Romans 6: 3 - 6.

This identification with Christ brings the believers by faith into a living reality of their new nature in Christ. They realise that they have acquired new family, citizenship and authority in Christ Jesus which is far better than what they had in the world. Hence, it became easier to deny themselves, take up their cross to follow the Lord with joy. Halleluyah!!!
